The Eagle Talon is identical to the Mistubishi Eclipse and, previously, the Plymouth Laser. All three were originally assembled at Mitsubishi's Diamond Star Motors plant in Normal, Illinois. The product of a joint venture between Chrysler and Mitsubishi, the Talon was recently discontinued, but still maintains a large following among sports car enthusiasts.
The Eagle Talon comes in three basic flavors: a base-line 4-cylinder model (the Esi), a peppier turbocharged, intercooled 4-cylinder engine (the Tsi), and a high-performance All-Wheel Drive (TsiAWD). All models have a variety of options, and thus far the non-turbocharged model seems to be the most common in my area, perhaps because of the lower price. I own a top-of-the-line model: my '97 Talon has every available option except the power seat/leather interior package (power seats have a shorter range of movement and I don't like leather interiors).
